Pole Base Lights Up St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s Rose Garden
“At St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s Rose Garden project in Florence, KY, electrical contractor Archiable Electric Company faced the challenge of working in a cramped, high-traffic hospital environment with a tight project deadline. With limited access for installation equipment like ready-mix trucks, traditional cast-in-place bases were simply impractical. Instead, the team chose Bell Precast’s precast concrete Pole Base system, a faster, more efficient solution that met the project’s demanding timeline and delivered superior, long-lasting results.”

The Challenge
“Navigating around parking lots and driveways restricted access for concrete trucks, making traditional cast-in-place bases unfeasible. This method would have caused delays due to the need for extra equipment and labor, prompting Archiable Electric to find a faster, more efficient solution.”
The Solution
“Seeking an efficient and sleek solution, Archiable Electric turned to Bell Precast’s 18-in (457.2 mm ) round smooth Pole Bases. Fifteen bases were installed in the Rose Garden, each measuring 18 in (457.2 mm) x 36 in (914.4 mm) with a 1-in (25.4 mm) chamfer. These bases were positioned mostly below grade as an attractive foundation for the site’s decorative bollard lighting. Reinforced with built-to-specification components such as interior conduit, rebar, and bolt projections, Archiable Electric installed the bases quickly without needing onsite adjustments.”
The Outcome
“Pole Base offered a high-quality solution that fit perfectly within the hospital’s tight spaces. By choosing precast bases over traditional cast-in-place options, Archiable Electric saved time and labor.
